India has opened three new visa centers in Canada, bringing the total to twelve within 45 days of resuming visa issuance. BLS International Services Canada Inc added centers in Regina, Halifax, and Mississauga (GTA) from January 1. These centers accept passport, visa, OCI card, and attestation applications through appointments or walk-ins.

The High Commissioner, Sanjay Kumar Verma, mentioned the possibility of adding more centers based on demand. Special services, including seasonal visits to Canadian cities, are also offered. The Indo-Canadian population has grown to 2.4 million from 1.8 million in the last five years, leading to increased demand. Visa services normalized on November 22, following a temporary suspension on September 21, prompted by concerns raised by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about potential links between Indian agents and the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18.
