Indians with H-1B visas can now renew them in the US, thanks to a new initiative approved by the White House. This five-week trial project allows 20,000 applicants to renew their visas without leaving the country. The application period on the US State Department’s website begins on February 5.
To be eligible, applicants must be in the US and stay throughout the renewal process, according to guidelines from the State Department released this month.
The 20,000 slots will be evenly distributed among those who originally got their H-1B visas from the consulates of India and Canada.
