Gujarat’s CID is broadening its investigation into suspected forgery by three more visa consultancies over concerns about illegal immigrants. This comes after legal actions against six firms accused of forging documents. Initially, six faced charges following a December 15 raid on 17 consultancies in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Vadodara.

Now, three additional firms are under CID investigation: Proton Consultancy in Kudasan, Gandhinagar; First Step Overseas Consultants in Maninagar, Ahmedabad; and Shree Overseas in Ahmedabad.

During the Proton Consultancy raid, police seized phones owned by Nirav Vikrambhai Patel and Avinash Yogeshbhai Patel, residents of Umiyanagar in Mota Chiloda, Gandhinagar. The phones are under analysis at the Forensic Sciences Laboratory. From these phones, 138 marksheets were discovered, with forensic analysis ongoing for seven. Of the 131 analyzed, three have raised suspicions. The investigation focuses on alleged fraudulent practices related to immigration documents by these visa consultancies.
