Greek Islands to Welcome Turkish Visitors With New Visa Scheme

Greek islands are getting ready to welcome Turkish tourists for the first time with a new visa plan. This move is seen as a step toward solving the ‘Cyprus problem.’

Under the new scheme, Turkish travelers can visit ten Greek islands. Rhodes, a popular spot, now has a special visa terminal for Turkish visitors to ease tensions between the two countries.

The visa allows Turks to stay on Greek islands for up to a week without needing full access to the EU’s Schengen area, which is passport-free travel in Europe.

Greece and Turkey, both NATO members, have been working on various initiatives to resolve longstanding issues about sea boundaries, mineral rights, and Cyprus. This renewed focus is good for tourism too.
