Greece’s Golden Visa Program, attracting foreign investors for residency, has seen a notable influx from China and Turkey. In 2021, 6,405 Chinese nationals and 618 Turkish nationals secured residency permits through this program, according to Greece’s Ministry of Migration and Foreign Affairs.
As of February 2023, a total of 10,105 residence permits were granted to investors, with an additional 18,154 issued to their family members.
The Golden Visa Scheme allows foreign nationals to gain Greek residency by investing in the country and meeting specific criteria. In August 2023, Greece increased the minimum investment requirement from €250,000 to €500,000 in certain areas, as confirmed by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
