The U.S. has changed some rules to make it easier for smart folks in science, tech, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. They did this in January 2022, and it’s making a difference!

Now, if you’re super talented, there’s a better chance to get a visa called O-1A. It’s like a temporary ticket that could lead to a green card. And for STEM folks with advanced degrees, it’s also easier to get a green card through a special EB-2 visa.

Cool fact: In the first year of these changes, the number of O-1A visas went up by almost 30% to 4570. That’s a lot! And this good news stuck around in 2023. Also, for super smart STEM folks, the number of visas went up by 55% in 2022 to 70,240, and it stayed the same this year. Awesome news for all the brainy STEM workers out there!”
