Ghana has announced a 46-day visa-on-arrival window for holiday visitors from December 1, 2023, to January 15, 2024. This initiative is part of the government’s 10-year “Beyond The Return” campaign, encouraging Africans in the diaspora to reconnect with their roots and explore Ghana.
The move supports Ghana’s goal of becoming a top destination for people of African descent. The Ministry of Transport emphasizes the need to update systems for this policy and advises against demanding entry visas before boarding flights to Ghana. Ghana is also considering visa-free entry for all Africans and those of African descent, aligning with efforts to strengthen ties and promote tourism.
Currently, only a few African nations offer visa-free entry to all African citizens. This step reflects Ghana’s commitment to fostering cultural exchange and celebrating the shared heritage of people of African descent globally.
