In 2022, many Indian citizens received the most German work visas. About 17,379 Indians got these visas, which was much more than the 12,542 visas given the year before. The German Consulate General in Bengaluru helped process a lot of these visas. This increase happened because Germany needed skilled workers, especially in technology, and the government wanted to make it easier for Indian IT experts to work there. This trend was noticeable as Turkey (12,542) and Serbia (11,792) also got many work visas from Germany in the same time.
Germany issued a total of 393,083 visas in 2022. After work visas, the next highest numbers of visas were for studying (71,018) and for spouses reuniting (71,129). The rise in work visas for Indians shows that their skills are valued worldwide, and they’re important for Germany’s workforce. This strengthens the relationship between the two countries and helps fill the gaps in skilled labor that are important in today’s connected world.
