The six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have unanimously approved a unified tourist visa, similar to the Schengen visa in Europe. This means that tourists will soon be able to visit all six countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates) on a single visa.

The unified visa is expected to boost tourism and economic growth in the region. It will make it easier for tourists to travel between GCC countries, and it is expected to attract more tourists to the region.

The GCC Tourism Strategy sets ambitious targets to achieve annual growth of seven percent in tourist numbers until 2030. The unified visa is seen as a key step towards achieving these targets.

The unified visa is expected to be launched in 2024. More details about the visa, such as its cost and duration, will be announced in the coming months.
