In a move set to significantly ease visa application processes for Guyanese citizens, France is planning to open an embassy in Guyana next year. This development will eliminate the need for Guyanese individuals to travel to Suriname to process their Schengen visa applications.
Jean-Jacques Forté, the Chargé d’Affaires for France in Guyana, clarified that while the visa application process is distinct from the embassy’s opening, the embassy will commence handling visa applications in 2025.
This initiative is expected to streamline and simplify the visa application procedure for Guyanese citizens, marking a significant improvement in accessibility and convenience for those seeking Schengen visas.
