The deposit can be refunded if students follow specific conditions like planned departure, permit renewal, or a change in visa category. However, failing to meet departure requirements results in forfeiting the deposit. Long-term permit holders also need to show enrollment in a valid program annually.
According to Atharv Chodankar, a BAMMC student at Mulund College of Commerce, this deposit requirement isn’t unusual, as many countries worldwide have similar measures. While it aims to secure financial stability for studying abroad, the challenge is initially arranging the necessary funds for the deposit.
