Since January 1, 2024, France has been issuing Digital Schengen visas, making it the first in the EU to do so. This move is part of a plan to fully digitize Schengen visa processes by 2026.
In preparation for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, France plans to give out 70,000 digital visas. However, not everyone can get one.
Who Can Get a Digital Visa for France?
- Olympic and Paralympic Family: This includes athletes, coaches, and committee members. The process is simple – no appointments or fees, just show your passport and valid accreditation certificate.
- Official Guests: If you’re invited by the Olympic or Paralympic Committee, apply on France-Visas, submit required documents, and provide biometrics at the visa center. No fees for this category.
