France has opened a new visa center in Monrovia, simplifying the application process for Liberian citizens and others visiting France for business and activities. The inauguration on November 17 aimed to streamline visa applications, making it more accessible for foreigners, including Liberians.

Deputy French Ambassador Sebastine Jondot highlighted that the visa center’s establishment resulted from extensive discussions with foreign colleagues, aiming to facilitate travel logistics and strengthen diplomatic ties between Liberia and France. The Monrovia office is expected to enhance cooperation between the two nations.

The French Consulate General in la Cote Dโ€™Ivoire, Mr. Philippe Collin, announced a significant development: since September 18, 2023, Liberians with ordinary passports can submit visa applications at the VFS center in Monrovia, located at the Royal Grand Hotel in Sinkor. Collin emphasized that the French Consulate General in Abidjan has sole authority over processing these applications. Applicants need to complete forms online and schedule appointments through the VFS global website. The Monrovia office operates on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
