The European Union’s statistical office, Eurostat, says that Europe will need more IT specialists in the coming years. This is because more and more jobs require IT skills.
Eurostat experts say that the demand for IT specialists will be high in the 2030s and 2040s. They are planning to do a special study on the IT sector to find out which countries need the most IT specialists.
Eurostat also says that the demand for specific occupations varies depending on the region. For example, north Belgium may need more pharmacists, while southern Germany may need more mechanical engineers.
The three most sought-after skills in 2019 and 2023 are expected to be IT expertise, food and accommodation services, and temporary work agencies.
