Getting a US Green Card through the EB-5 visa just got easier, especially for rural projects. In an interview with Financial Express Online, Carel van der Merwe shared some good news.
Since March 2022, new rules give priority to rural projects, making up 20% of yearly EB-5 visas. This means, as of February 2024, there’s no waiting for visas in the EB-5 rural category.
And here’s more good news: rural project applications are moving faster, taking about 56.5 months. Starting April 2024, the application fee is going up to $11,160, but it’s meant to speed things up.
With over 20,000 extra visas from previous years, EB-5 applicants can expect quicker processing times. Also, the rules now say your investment has to be “at risk” for only two years, making it less stressful for investors.
