Dubai has introduced a new system called the Work Bundle to make it faster and easier for people to get work permits and residency visas in the UAE. This high-tech platform is expected to cut down the processing time from almost a month to just five days. It initially launched in Dubai and will soon be available in other places.
The Work Bundle platform simplifies the whole process by reducing the required documents from 16 to just five. It also means fewer visits to service centers – down from seven to only two, as officials announced in a press conference.
So, what is the Work Bundle platform? It brings together different government departments like the Ministry of Human Resources, Customs, Health Authority, and more, working with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs. The idea is to make the visa and work permit process smoother and more straightforward.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, says the Work Bundle platform aims to make residency and work permit procedures simpler and faster. He believes this will save a lot of time for both the government and private sectors, leading to significant yearly savings. Sheikh Mohammed had previously urged UAE ministries and government entities to reduce procedures by at least 2,000 and cut processing times in half within a year to improve overall efficiency.
