Starting December 1st, if you’re a foreigner visiting Malaysia, you’ll need to fill out a quick online form before you arrive, except if you’re just passing through Singapore. People who live in Malaysia or have a special pass don’t need to do this.

This is part of Malaysia’s plan to make it easier for people from other countries to visit and bring in more tourists and money. The Immigration Department of Malaysia believes these changes will keep Malaysia as a top destination for investment and tourism in Asia.

In addition to the online form, Malaysia is doing other things to make travel simpler. They’re not asking for visas from people in China and India, allowing multiple entries on one visa, and introducing special visas for graduates and people on religious journeys. They’re also making visas and visit passes valid for a longer time.
