Delhi Police busted a major “Dunki racket” involved in illegal immigration to European countries, impacting over 200 victims from Bangladesh and Nepal. Following a tip-off, the police arrested nine people, including six traffickers and three individuals attempting to migrate to Europe. The traffickers were operating from locations in Delhi and Dubai.

The first arrest was of Mohd Anowar Kazi (22), a Bangladesh national living in India illegally, on January 5 in East Delhi’s Mayur Vihar. Subsequent arrests included Mohd Kholilur Rahman and Emran Hossain, who sought traffickers’ help to move to Europe, paying sums up to Rs 5 lakh.

Kazi was caught with an expired visa, fake police clearance, and educational certificates. Investigations revealed his connections with agents involved in organized crime. Despite arriving on a valid visa from Bangladesh, Kazi and others overstayed in Delhi for three months.

Kazi shared information about a trafficker named Akbor, also known as Altaf, residing in Sarita Vihar. The police are actively following leads to dismantle the entire racket.
