Costa Rica and Honduras have introduced visa requirements for each other’s travelers due to security concerns. This decision comes after both countries saw increasing criminal activities and unauthorized entries. The visa rules went into effect on October 10, impacting travelers from each country.

Now, if you’re from Honduras and wish to visit Costa Rica, you’ll need to obtain a visa. This visa allows for a 60-day visit, extendable up to 90 days. The move aims to enhance security and ensure a safer environment for both countries.

The Costa Rican passport ranks 58th in the VisaGuide Passport Index, granting Costa Rican citizens visa-free access to 117 countries. However, for other destinations, a visa application process is necessary. Valid passports and, in some cases, travel health insurance are typically required for visa-free travel.
