Chinese Embassy in South Korea Reopens Short-Term Visas

Good news for South Korean travelers! The Chinese embassy has announced the reopening of short-term visa services, allowing people to visit China for business, transit, and personal reasons.

This decision comes after South Korea also started issuing short-term visas to Chinese travelers. Plus, China’s National Immigration Administration has brought back port visas and the 72/144-hour transit visa-free policy for South Korean citizens, starting from February 18.

There was a temporary pause in the visa exchange between the two countries when China stopped short-term visas for South Koreans. This was a response to South Korea’s COVID-19 restrictions on Chinese travelers. However, as China eased its COVID-19 measures and opened borders for cross-border travel and business from January 8, tensions between the two nations have started to ease. Happy travels!
