China is thinking about letting citizens of Belgium visit without a visa for short trips, similar to other European Union countries. Talks between Belgium’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Hadja Lahbib, and Chinese officials hint at a possible waiver of visa requirements for Belgians.

If approved, this would mean Belgians can travel to China for short stays without going through the usual visa process. While China hasn’t officially announced this, there’s optimism that the country might ease visa and travel rules for specific foreign nationals to encourage tourism.

Apart from visas, Minister Lahbib mentioned that discussions with China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, also covered trade and the current geopolitical situation between the two countries.
