China and Switzerland made deals to speed up talks about improving their trade agreement, which has been around since 2013. They also decided to make it easier for people to travel between the two countries. These agreements happened during the first high-level meeting since Covid-19 started.

China’s Premier Li Qiang got a warm welcome in Bern, and they discussed these deals with Swiss President Viola Amherd and Economy Minister Guy Parmelin. China even said Swiss citizens can visit without a visa. They talked about 30 things between them and other global topics. Both countries plan to talk more about development and human rights later this year.

China has been Switzerland’s main trading partner in Asia since 2010 and is the third most important globally, after the European Union and the United States.
