China is seeing an increase in foreign travelers as it expands its visa waiver program and makes travel more convenient for international visitors.
In the first three months of this year, there has been a significant rise in bookings for trips to China through Trip.com, the country’s largest online travel agency. Compared to the same period last year, overseas bookings to China have surged by 188%. Additionally, during the Easter weekend, there was a 146% increase in bookings compared to the previous year, according to data from Trip.com.
This surge in bookings indicates a growing interest among foreign travelers to visit China, possibly driven by the country’s efforts to relax visa requirements and improve the overall travel experience for visitors. China’s move to welcome more foreign travelers aligns with its broader tourism strategy to attract international tourists and boost its tourism industry.
