Australia’s government has reintroduced the practice of granting visas to Chinese tour groups, making it easier for Chinese tourists to visit the country. This change is aimed at revitalizing tourism in Australia, which had declined significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both the Australian and Chinese governments are actively working to mend diplomatic relations that have faced challenges in recent years. Additionally, Qantas, an Australian airline, is preparing to resume flights between Australia and China in October.
Although it may take some time, possibly until 2026, for the number of Chinese tourists visiting Australia to return to pre-pandemic levels, the relaxation of visa rules is seen as a positive step in that direction.
