German Embassy Reduces Schengen Visa Processing Time to 8 Weeks for Travel to Germany

New Delhi: Processing time for Schengen visas, allowing 90 days in Schengen Area, shortened to 8 weeks for Germany trips. Georg Enzweiler, Deputy Head of Mission at German Embassy in New Delhi, announced change. Ongoing efforts to improve despite bureaucracy. Streamlining ongoing, staff increased in Mumbai, reducing wait.

Enzweiler stated, “Currently 8 weeks. Committed to more. Don’t want to burden Indian tourists with applying years ahead.” Embassy advised early appointments due to high demand, using VFS for Germany travel.
