A recent study by the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania has found that Canada’s Start-Up Visa Program is attracting immigrant entrepreneurs from the United States.
The study found that the introduction of the program in 2013 increased the likelihood of US-based immigrants establishing start-ups in Canada by 69%.
The program is designed to attract talented entrepreneurs to Canada by providing them with a fast-track path to permanent residency. To be eligible, applicants must have a start-up business that has been accepted into a designated incubator or accelerator program in Canada.
The program has been successful in attracting entrepreneurs from a variety of industries, including technology, healthcare, and clean energy.
