Canada’s Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is making big changes to improve the way it works.
Neil Yeates, a former senior official at IRCC, wrote a report earlier this year that said the department needs to improve its effectiveness and efficiency.
The report recommended changes to the department’s structure and how it makes decisions.
Christiane Fox, the current Deputy Minister at IRCC, is working with the Immigration Minister, Marc Miller, to implement the changes.
The goal is to make it easier for people to immigrate to Canada and to provide better services to immigrants.
