Canada will not require Moroccans to have a passport or travel document to apply for a permanent resident visa if they lost their documents in the earthquake.
Canadian citizens and permanent residents from Morocco who are returning to Canada will not have to pay fees for temporary passports, limited-validity passports, emergency travel documents, Canadian citizenship certificates, or permanent resident travel documents.
These measures will be in effect from October 19, 2023, to March 12, 2024.
