Canada to evaluate colleges and universities for “Trusted Institution” designation

Canada is changing its student visa program to make it easier for international students to study there. Starting in 2024, colleges and universities will be evaluated to see if they are good enough to be trusted with international students. If they are trusted, they will be called “Trusted Institutions” and their students will get their visa applications processed faster.

Right now, all Canadian colleges and universities that admit international students are approved by the government. But with the new system, there will be two levels: Trusted Institutions and non-Trusted Institutions. The government is making this change because they want to make sure that international students are safe and have a good experience in Canada.

The government is also considering other changes to the student visa program, such as increasing the number of international students that Canada accepts each year.
