Canada’s Immigration Minister, Marc Miller, shared that residents in the Gaza Strip with family in Canada can now apply for temporary visas. The program is set to start by January 9 and is designed to help individuals with family ties in Canada, like parents, grandparents, siblings, and grandchildren. It’s important to know that the Canadian government can’t guarantee safe travel out of Gaza.

Previously, the government focused on bringing back 660 Canadians, permanent residents, and their families from Gaza. Under this new plan, eligible individuals may receive three-year visas. The exact number benefiting from this initiative is not certain, but it’s expected to be in the hundreds.
