Canada Initiates Latest Express Entry Draw of 2023

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has executed the most recent Express Entry draw in 2023, inviting candidates under an all-program selection.

2,000 Candidates Receive Invitations

The IRCC has extended invitations to apply for permanent residency to a total of 2,000 candidates in the latest all-program Express Entry draw. Applicants were selected based on their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores, with a minimum threshold of 517.

A snapshot of recent Express Entry draws reveals notable trends:

July 11-12 Draw: IRCC invited 3,800 French-speaking candidates to apply for permanent residency through a category-based selection draw. The CRS score requirement was 375, marking the lowest CRS score for any draw this year.

July 4-7 Draws: The first week of July witnessed an extraordinary occurrence as Express Entry Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued on four consecutive days. The July 4 draw invited 700 candidates in an all-program selection round with a high CRS score requirement of 511.

July 5 Draw: An expected category-based selection draw focused on candidates with work experience in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. IRCC invited 500 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 486.

July 6 Draw: IRCC extended 1,500 ITAs to candidates in healthcare professions through another category-based selection round, setting the minimum CRS score at 463.

July 7 Draw: The IRCC invited 2,300 Express Entry candidates with strong French-speaking abilities, specifying a minimum CRS score of 439. French-speaking abilities was the only category-based criterion that did not center around a specific occupation.

June 27-28 Draws: In late June, IRCC executed two draws. The initial all-program draw welcomed 4,300 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 486. The subsequent day marked the first-ever category-based selection round, inviting 500 candidates with work experience in specific healthcare roles. The minimum CRS score for this category was 476.
