Bulgaria has recently gained the authority to issue Schengen visas after joining the Schengen Area via air and sea on March 31, 2024. To streamline the visa application process for foreign travelers, Bulgaria has partnered with VFS Global to manage outsourcing centers. These centers are now accepting visa applications, making it easier for individuals from various countries to apply for Bulgarian Schengen visas.
As part of this initiative, Bulgaria has already established visa application centers in several strategic locations across different countries. These centers are operational in key areas such as Russia, India, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and China. The Ministry has revealed that additional centers are planned to be set up in more locations in the near future, expanding the accessibility of Bulgarian Schengen visa applications globally.
One notable development is the extensive network of visa application centers that Bulgaria has in Russia. Currently, there are 20 centers spread across different cities in Russia where Russian applicants can submit their visa forms for Bulgarian Schengen visas. This extensive coverage aims to facilitate smoother visa processes for Russian travelers and underscores Bulgaria’s commitment to efficient visa services.
