Bulgaria’s Tourism Minister, Zaritsa Dinkova, announced plans to fully digitize the country’s visa procedures by 2025. This move aims to simplify visa applications and shorten processing times, as reported by SchengenVisaInfo.com. Minister Dinkova discussed these plans during a meeting with Turkey’s Culture and Tourism Minister, Mehmet Ersoy, in London.

The ministers also explored opportunities for collaboration in winter tourism, aiming to attract travelers from neighboring Balkan countries and potentially expanding to more distant markets. Additionally, they discussed strategies to encourage young people to pursue careers in the tourism industry.

Despite not being on Bulgaria’s visa-exempt list, Turkish nationals are required to obtain a visa to visit Bulgaria. However, being an EU member state, Bulgaria allows visa exemptions for all EU member countries, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland for stays up to 90 days, in accordance with the European Union’s Right of Free Movement.
