Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Dimitar Dimitrov, announced that starting at the end of this month, the embassy will accept Schengen visa applications. This decision follows Bulgaria and Romania joining the Schengen area and will be effective from March 31, 2024. Applicants can now get a Schengen visa instead of a Bulgarian national visa if they meet the required criteria, allowing stays of up to 90 days within six months.
Kuwaiti citizens will receive a five-year multiple-entry Schengen visa, allowing stays of 90 days every six months. The visa process will follow standard Schengen requirements, with processing taking around 15 days. Ambassador Dimitrov advised applicants to submit their applications at least 15 days before travel and to schedule appointments through the embassy’s email or phone during official hours. He also mentioned upcoming summer tourism in Bulgaria, with direct flights from Kuwait to Burgas and Varna, and various tourism services provided by local agents, including preferred accommodations for Kuwaiti tourists.
