Starting January 10, 2024, if you’re a Canadian planning to visit Brazil, you’ll need a visa. This is because Canada and others didn’t do the same when Brazil removed visa requirements.
To get a Brazilian visa, you’ll need a valid passport, fill out a form, add a passport-style photo, show your flight details, and have a bank statement with at least US$2,000 for your trip. If it’s a business trip, you might need more details.
Brazil did this to have the same visa rules as other countries. Even though they removed visas in 2019 to get more tourists, it didn’t work as they hoped. Not many people from important countries like the US and Japan visited.
