Starting January 10th, Brazil reinstates visa requirements for travelers from Canada, Australia, and the United States. The initial deadline of October 1st, 2023, has been extended, allowing a grace period until January 9th for arriving tourists.
The Ministry of Tourism clarified that this change is based on Brazil’s arrival date, following a recent agreement with Japan for visa-free stays of up to 90 days. Brazil’s flexible diplomatic approach is evident in this adjustment.
Efforts are in progress to engage a company for electronic visa services, simplifying the application process. The upcoming decree, in its final stages, will soon be published, underscoring Brazil’s commitment to fair visa arrangements and strengthening international relations.
