In Mumbai, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi individual, Abdul Bashar, was apprehended while attempting to board a flight to Hong Kong using a counterfeit Indian passport. Bashar confessed to obtaining the fraudulent passport and a Hong Kong visa for โ‚น6 lakh through the Mumbai regional passport office. Authorities are actively probing the circumstances of Bashar’s illegal entry into India and the swift acquisition of the counterfeit passport.

Bashar’s journey began with his entry into India via the Kolkata border. Afterward, he secured employment as a laborer in Pune, where he crossed paths with an agent named Firoz. Allegedly, Firoz orchestrated the creation of counterfeit documents for Bashar, including an Aadhaar Card, PAN card, and driver’s license. Suspicion arose when Bashar, at the Mumbai immigration counter, failed to provide a convincing purpose for his Hong Kong trip or details about his intended activities, ultimately leading to his arrest.
