Australia has closed a visa loophole that allowed foreign students to engage in dual-study programs.

Australia is stopping foreign students from exploiting a loophole in their visa rules. This loophole allowed students to enroll in cheaper courses as soon as they arrived in the country. The government noticed that many students were using this trick to switch to cheaper courses instead of completing their university studies. To prevent this, they are closing the loophole immediately.

Also, international students will have to show they have more money saved up to get a student visa. Starting from October 1st, they will need to prove they have A$24,505 ($15,693) in savings, which is a 17% increase from the current requirement, to cover higher living expenses.
