About 100 workers might have been involved in a scam where immigrants were squeezed into a house.

Around 90 to 100 workers are potentially impacted by an immigration scheme wherein a three-bedroom house was overcrowded with immigrants, as revealed by Immigration Minister Andrew Little.

Immigration New Zealand (INZ) acknowledged a potential instance of immigration fraud and migrant exploitation in Auckland on Tuesday. The case involves Indian nationals and revolves around a recently dissolved company that engaged employees under the accredited employer work visa program.

Under this initiative, immigrants are permitted to work for up to three years with an employer offering a minimum of 30 hours per week.
